Jose Rodelgo-Bueno was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. He studied aeronautic science at the Spanish Air Force Academy, became a major and was awarded the Cross of Merit by King Juan Carlos of Spain. Rodelgo-Bueno earned a bachelor in economics and a doctorate in business administration, with specialization in education, at the state university in Madrid. He served as coordinator of the graduate program in school administration at the University of the Sacred Heart, and professor of economics at the state university of Puerto Rico. In 2006, he moved to Miami and became executive director for inner city schools of the Archdiocese of Miami. He earned a post doctorate in educational leadership from Florida International University in 2010, and is the author of two books: Empresariado Social: del Estado Benefactor a la Sociedad del Bienestar (2004), and The Teachers Will Save U.S (2012).
