Guy has been the MP for Hexham since 2010 after 15 years as a barrister, prosecuting 9 murder trials and many other cases. He ran a groundbreaking pro bono legal charity for 7 years and was named Lawyer of the Year in 2007. Throughout all of this he also ran a family engineering business on the side with his father. In April 2011 he was diagnosed with a brain tumour after collapsing in the House of Commons but made a full recovery within few months and walked the Pennine Way for the Great North Air Ambulance last summer raising several thousands of pounds. He is now presently working in the Home Office as PPS to the Minister for Immigration, Mark Harper MP.
