If God does not exist, human actions can only obey to the physical laws of determinism or chance, with no room for free will and moral responsibility and evil. If God exists, the question is why God gave us the gift of freedom, and the quest for answers cannot be based on reason alone, but also on faith. Second of two articles.

There is a popular thesis: the presence of evil in our life means that a God infinitely potent, that knows everything, and is infinitely good, cannot exist. This first article of two confutes this thesis, in relation to natural evil, on the base of evolution and of complexity. Taking into account these scientific theories the thesis looks naïve and logically unsound.
