A children's classic by Maurice Sendak has been refashioned into a film Where the Wild Things Are and a novel by Dave Eggers, The Wild Things. The artists acknowledge the threatening world the child knows, portraying a young hero who runs away from home, confronts his monsters and returns to those who care for him.

The decision of Attorney General Eric Holder to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the 2001 attacks, in a federal court has been strongly criticised by the Republicans, who argue that, as an enemy combatant, he belongs to a military tribunal. To the astonishment of his supporters, Obama is wavering in his support for Holder.

Recently one more slaughter in Africa, where religious, political and tribal hatreds have bloodied Nigeria this time. According to Fr.

How do you learn? From books, certainly, but this way we only obtain an abstract knowledge and our language remains flat, cold. Our words become illuminated by truth and beauty when they are dictated by a feeling which wholly engages them: love. This is what Shakespeare suggests in Love's Labour's Lost.

It is possible to think about innovative ways to motivate bankers and executives and ultimately change the overall Wall Street’s incentive system. For instance, by rediscovering the value of partnership, participation and accountability, that are all direct manifestation of freedom.

During the presidential campaigns last year, candidates for both major parties were clear and adamant about the need for health care reform. Americans knew, a year ago, that we had a serious problem with health care. And they wanted it fixed. Yet we are still playing politics.

The crisis in Greece needs sound EU economic judgment and political leadership, not Germany's fiscal austerity, which risks to push Greece back into economic recession. The vicious circle of debt-deflation could engulf the other highly indebted members of euroland, and plunge the EU into an ever deeper social recession.
