The main person suspected of masterminding the Christmas bomb attacks on churches in Nigeria was able to escape only 24 hours after his arrest. The police said that, while they were accompanying Kabiru Sokoto from his lair, they were surrounded by some young people who allowed Sokoto to escape. For the Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama, "what happened is unacceptable and raises terrible suspicions because it seems to confirm what was stated recently by the President of the Republic, the Christian Goodluck Jonathan, namely that there are members of the secret services and ministers in his government who sympathize with terrorists". The episode took place a few weeks after the ultimatum issued by the Boko Haram, which invited Christians to leave the Northern states of the country to avoid being massacred. As archbishop Kaigama said to Ilsussidiario.net, "ever since, the Christians of the country continue to receive anonymous text messages that speak about the jihad and about attacks against churches. I myself have received some of these threatening messages, stating that I must not leave the house because it would be very dangerous for my life".Do you believe that the police intentionally let the main suspect in the massacre on Christmas get away?First of all, President Jonathan recently said that there are Secret Service agents and members of the Council of Ministers who sympathize with the Boko Haram. If a suspect as important as Sokoto was arrested and then escaped, it is natural to suspect that there is someone who has masterminded his escape. The escape of a suspect, who was believed to have killed several people on Christmas Day, is quite strange, and raises some terrible suspicions. We are waiting to see what the government will do now because what happened is unacceptable. Someone is confusing Nigeria for his personal kingdom and is trying to fool Nigerians.Do you think Jonathan is right to suspect the secret service members and ministers? He is the president, and if he says that some police officers, soldiers, members of the council of ministers and other influential people sympathize with the Boko Haram, it is our duty to believe him. A head of state has access to information that we do not, and if he is making such a serious statement, it is our duty to believe him.Why is Goodluck, a Christian president, unable to defend the Christians of his country?
