Roberto Fontolan talks about the importance of the beatification of John Paul II, the door to Christ that he opened for us, and his witness of the love of God, to us today.

On May 1, 2011, just six years after his death, John Paul II was beatified by his successor, Benedict XVI in St. Peter's Square in Rome. The ceremony was held on Divine Mercy Sunday, a day established by John Paul II himself, and was attended by over 2 million people, many of whom came from Poland to see the Polish Pope become Blessed. His feast day will be on October 22nd.
